Round Again

Poetry-Round-Again-742x1024

When everything comes ’round again

I’ll see it through once more, and then

I’ll wonder why there is no end

When everything comes ’round again.’

Round and ’round and ’round it goes

When it stops please mind your toes

When it started, no one knows…

‘Round and ’round and ’round it goes.

Ever winding, ever binding

Each thread of life: a flash of lightning

A constant battle with forces dark’ning

Ever winding, ever binding.

Some would say life isn’t fair

They take and take and do not care

That we could one day learn to share

Some would say life isn’t fair.

And so we struggle every day

with fears that stoic’lly block our way

though we really want to dance and play

And so we struggle every day.

When all is said and all is done

Who’s left to say if we have won?

Could we have made our lives more fun

When all is said and all is done?

As our cycle of life continues to unfold

There are new wonders for each day to hold.

Every moment’s a blessing, or so I’m told,

As our cycle of life continues to unfold.

Making, just once, some final piece

Our lives seem to shift, our thoughts to cease

Bringing us to a long awaited release

Making, just once, some final piece.

Floating gently- so cold and dark,

A thought takes form- a tiny spark,

Our soul sets off as if on a lark

Floating gently- so cold and dark.

Searching for some hint of courage

to once more climb the starry ridge

and cross again that milky bridge

Searching for some hint of courage.

When everything comes ’round again

I’ll see it through once more, and then

I’ll wonder why there is no end

When everything comes ’round again.
